Getting in touch
There is no form on this page, because a form would mean running something on the server and storing what you typed. Email is simpler and it goes straight to me.

Things worth writing to me about
A correction
This is the most useful mail I get. If I have described a mechanic wrongly, missed a setting, or written about a version of a game that has since changed, please say so — and if you can, say which entry and roughly where. I amend entries in place and add a dated note at the foot of the page explaining what changed. I do not quietly rewrite things.
A game worth logging
I take suggestions and I read all of them, but I want to be honest about how rarely one becomes an entry. I write roughly one entry a fortnight, I only cover casual arcade and puzzle games that are free to play, and a game has to survive two weeks on my phone before I will write about it. Suggestions that fit that shape have a real chance. Everything else probably does not.
A question about the scoring
Happy to answer. The five criteria are explained on the about page, but if you want to know why a particular game landed where it did, ask and I will tell you what was in the notes.
Things I will not do
- Sponsored entries. No amount, no arrangement, no "just a mention". If you represent a studio and want coverage, the only route is the same as everyone else's: suggest it and I might play it.
- Affiliate or referral arrangements. There are none on this site and there will not be.
- Guest posts and link exchanges. One person writes this site. That is the entire point of it.
- Early access, review codes, or embargo arrangements. I install games the same way readers do, and I would rather keep it that way.
If your mail is one of the above, I will not reply, and please do not take it personally. There are only so many evenings.
What happens to your email
It lands in a normal mailbox and stays put. Nobody gets added to a list, there is nothing here to be subscribed to, and no address I hold is handed on to anyone else. Say the word and a message is deleted. The privacy page spells it out at slightly greater length, and it is still short.
Thumbstick Diary is an informational personal site about small video games. Nothing on it is for sale and nothing on it is sponsored. The games written about are free casual apps with no cash element in either direction. Correspondence about an entry is welcome; correspondence offering payment for coverage is not. The diary is unaffiliated with any developer, publisher or storefront, and game names appear only to identify what is being discussed.
